RoRo vs container — what's the difference?
RoRo (Roll-on/Roll-off) — the vehicle is driven
directly onto a specialized vessel and driven off at the
destination port, no container involved. The simplest and most
common method for running vehicles.
FCL container — the vehicle is secured inside a
20ft or 40ft container. You can ship spare parts, tires and other
cargo in the same container, and it offers extra protection for
valuable or classic cars.
We advise which method fits based on the number of vehicles, their
type and value, and whether you're shipping anything alongside them.
What's the route from Japan or Korea?
From Japanese and Korean ports, vehicles travel by sea to Tianjin
port in China. From there, two options to Mongolia:
Rail — from Tianjin via Erenhot–Zamyn-Uud to Ulaanbaatar
Road — by car carrier or with the container on a truck
We organize the whole chain: receiving the vehicle at the port,
transshipment, and all transport documentation.
Can I ship belongings inside the vehicle?
With RoRo — usually not. Shipping lines generally
prohibit personal items inside RoRo vehicles for safety reasons —
the vehicle travels empty.
With a container — yes. Spare parts, tires and
belongings can be loaded into the same container as the vehicle,
as long as they're declared on the packing list and invoice.
If you plan to ship items along with the vehicle, tell us in
advance and we'll recommend the right setup.
Self-propelled machinery — excavators, loaders, harvesters
Construction, mining and agricultural machinery also travels by
RoRo or on special container types. For equipment too large for a
standard container there are dedicated solutions — flat racks and
platform wagons, for example.
Give us the make, model, dimensions (L × W × H), weight and whether
it runs, and we'll work out the right transport method.
What do I need for a quote?
Make, model and year of the vehicle
Dimensions and weight — essential for machinery
Whether it runs — non-runners need different loading equipment
Port or city of origin, and approximate shipping date
